Their Mission and HistoryAtlanta Mission aims to transform, through Christ, the lives of those facing homelessness. Atlanta Mission started in 1938 as a soup kitchen to feed the homeless in the Great Depression. Then in 1947 Atlanta Mission is declared a non profit charity. In 1969 Atlanta Mission became the first charity in the United States to also offer services for homeless women.

What Atlanta Mission DoesNowadays, Atlanta Mission has expanded their services greatly. They provide emergency shelter, rehab and recovery services, vocational training, services, and transitional housing. In fact, Atlanta Mission provides services to 1,000 men and women daily.
